The goal of the project

The main goal of the project is to develop an innovative, guiding and competitive curriculum, corresponding to the current digital literacy and to design an e-learning course for students, which will be implemented at all faculties and departments. This will happen through the cooperation and the experiences of universities in partner countries.

The knowledge, the experience and the applications of the partners related to digital information literacy will contribute to the determination of the frames of the curriculum for university students.

Nowadays, digital literacy is the key to student success in higher education.

Target Groups

  • Students at all faculties and departments of the university. They will be taught the following: easy ways of accessing knowledge sources, search for specific information and use digital library facilities. They will also be aware how they can use their mobile phones to access accurate information, as most of the students use mobiles to just talk and text.
  • Academicians, teachers/trainers and library staff. The digital information literacy training in higher education courses will be a guide for this target group for non formal education.
  • Decision makers in higher education (rectors, deans, academic committees and senates). Informative reports about the importance and impacts of the project will be presented to this group.

In summary, Digi-key’s education platform and course curriculum of this project will make a serious contribution to student education as they will be given to universities as elective and basic courses at local, national and European level. Finally, it will further increase the success of university students who use and benefit from the digital information technologies of the future.
