L'enqu\u00eate visait \u00e0 obtenir des r\u00e9ponses de tous les secteurs, mais la plupart des r\u00e9ponses ont \u00e9t\u00e9 re\u00e7ues de biblioth\u00e8ques universitaires. La recherche a examin\u00e9 leur connaissance des questions de droit d'auteur nationales et internationales ainsi que des politiques de droit d'auteur au niveau institutionnel. L'enqu\u00eate a \u00e9galement explor\u00e9 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d'une formation au droit d'auteur pour les professionnels nouveaux et existants et a sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 des sujets \u00e0 inclure dans les activit\u00e9s de formation. Les r\u00e9sultats sugg\u00e8rent que les niveaux de connaissance des professionnels britanniques sont plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s que ceux des autres pays qui ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re phase du projet. Les institutions britanniques sont \u00e9galement plus susceptibles de disposer d'une politique en mati\u00e8re de droits d'auteur et d'une personne responsable des droits d'auteur.
